When you grow to love someone, they become more beautiful to you over time. Even their imperfections become an indispensable part of that love. The photographer must fall in love with each and every subject, and bring out the latent beauty in even the most difficult of subjects, like a dead bird, or an oil spill. The viewer can look at a piece and relate emotionally to the subject and to what the photographer is saying about it. Inside he says, “yes, I feel it too, but I might not have noticed if you hadn’t shown me your interpretation.
